Arabia Mountain Adventure

Adventure Overview

Join us for a 3.9-mile loop hike exploring the unique landscape of Arabia Mountain. This moderate-difficulty trail takes you across exposed granite outcrops, past small lakes, and through forests filled with unique plant life.

We'll meet at the Davidson-Arabia Mountain Nature Center at 12:00 PM (noon) and expect to finish our hike around 3:00 PM. Afterward, those who wish to join can head to Longhorn Steakhouse in Conyers for an optional dinner.

This adventure is perfect for both photography enthusiasts and nature lovers. The unique moonscape-like terrain of Arabia Mountain provides excellent photo opportunities, especially if we catch some of the rare diamorpha plants in bloom.

What to Bring

Be prepared for a comfortable and safe experience at Arabia Mountain. Here's what you should pack:

Essentials

Comfortable hiking shoes with good traction
Water bottle (at least 1 liter)
Sunscreen (SPF 30+)
Hat for sun protection
Small backpack
Light snacks (trail mix, energy bars)

Note: There are no restrooms on the trail, so plan accordingly. Restrooms are available at the Nature Center before we start.

Parking Information

Here are your parking options for the Arabia Mountain adventure, in order of preference:

1. Davidson-Arabia Mountain Nature Center Lot

Address: 3787 Klondike Rd, Stonecrest, GA
Distance to Trailhead: 0 minutes – this is the main hub
Why it's #1: Direct access to the trail, visitor center, bathrooms, maps
Plan: This is our meeting point. Arrive early if possible; it fills fast by late morning on weekends.

2. AWARE Wildlife Center Lot

Address: 4158 Klondike Rd, Stonecrest, GA
Distance to Trailhead: ~5–10 minute walk on the paved PATH trail boardwalk
Details: Smaller lot (only ~19 spaces), but a solid second choice if the main lot is full.

3. Rockland Road Overflow Lot

Address: 6715 Rockland Rd, Stonecrest, GA
Distance to Trailhead: ~10–15 minute walk via PATH trail
Details: Huge field for parking, reliable during busy hours, but no restrooms here.

Menu Highlights: Steaks, burgers, grilled chicken, salads, ribs, salmon, and sides like mac & cheese or seasoned fries. Vegetarian options are limited.

Price Range: $15 – $30 per person (before tax and tip)
